10 Reasons To Have A Photo Shoot At Image 1st Photography Studio

Ok so you're thinking about having a photo shoot but you just don't know where to go ! Google 'Photo shoot or photoshoot' and you will see a lot of choice so where do you start?!  Check out all the links, look through all the websites and "read all about it"!! WOW there's one with a deal "£25, and a free picture" Now surely that's the one to go for, I mean look at what they do when you get there :)  Champers, hair , makeup, photo shoot blah blah blah I get all that for £25? Of course you do!! Well that's until you sit down in the viewing room after your shoot and get told the price of the images. But I thought it was £25? WAKE UP ! You don't get jack in this world for £25 ! (unless you hit Primark, then you're quids in) Sitting there looking at your images, you have two choices: 1. Succumb to the charms of the viewer and part with your hard earned cash, be it £200, £500, £1200 or £2000 (YES, some studios will try charge that) 2. THINK, stick to your values and know that what they are trying to charge you is plain stupid !!! DO NOT BE FOOLED! (unless the photos are really that nice!!) SECRET OPTION NUMBER 3 3. Before you even put yourself in this position, do your homework!!  Check out the studios, call them, visit them and find out all about them. Sorry?  They won't let you visit the studio to have a look around, hmmmmm , that doesn't sound right.. Proceed with caution! Ooooo you got stopped in the street "I'm telling you, you could be a model with that hair" ... check out this studio ... just give me £50 right now and you get all this ..... Please see Option 2 (enough said) I've heard I can get a shoot TFP? Quite often photographers will offer you a 'FREE' portfolio in return for your free time. These are known as Time for Prints (TFP’s) and Time for CD’s (TFCD’s). While such a proposition may sound attractive, they will not tell you that although you can use the images for representation on an agency's books, 100% of revenues earned from the images belongs to the photographer, because they (and not you) own the rights to the pictures. So beware, and only take this option if you are happy to relinquish any future revenue you may earn from these images. A common occurrence is of models that have had ‘FREE’ portfolio shots taken, only to find that those images are making the photographer who took them a vast amount of money outside of the U.K. and US. There is no redress in Google the studio (whichever one you are interested in) and look for reviews.  There are good, there are bad and there are others who will screw you for everything you have....Please see Option 3.
